Ilex aquifolium 'Alaska'
A relatively slow-growing, evergreen shrub or tree with deep green, glossy, spiny foliage and bearing small, inconspicuous white flowers in summer and red berries from autumn until spring.
Ilex aquifolium 'Argentea Marginata'
A medium-sized, evergreen tree with spiny, undulate leaves and bearing dull white flowers in early summer followed by red berries in autumn and winter. To ensure the plant develops berries, it is necessary to plant a male holly nearby.

Leucothoe 'Firestar'
A recent introduction with attractive gold and green, variegated foliage, taking on splashes of red as the temperatures drop, offering year-round colour. Leucothoe need to be grown in acidic soil, but don't worry if you don't have this; they look fantastic when grown in containers in ericaceous compost.
Magnolia 'Butterflies'
Butterflies is quite simply one of the most stunning Magnolias we have ever offered. A cross between M. acuminata and M. denudata to form fragrant primrose-yellow, loosely star-shaped flowers with red stamens. As with most Magnolias, it will benefit from being planted in a sheltered spot away from cold winds and despite the seemingly delicate yellow blooms, it is an incredibly tough plant and will easily withstand the British winter.
Magnolia 'Genie'
An absolutely stunning cultivar producing lightly scented, rich maroon tulip-shaped flowers in late spring. It has taken 15 years of breeding between M. x soulangeana and M. liliiflora to produce a plant that produces these astounding flowers that retain their colour well. It often produces a second flush of flowers later in the summer. Perfect for smaller gardens owing to its compact habit, this deciduous small tree is a welcome addition to any garden, creating some real elegance in late spring.
Magnolia 'Susan'
Fantastic tulip-shaped, fragrant deep purple-pink flowers with a softer pale pink to white inside. The tightly fluted buds stand upright on the branches before opening out to around 6 inches across which is when the brilliant colours really stand out. Later flowering than many Magnolias meaning that if you are concerned about late frosts damaging the flowers, this is perhaps one to go for. Performs best in a sheltered spot. It does not require much in the way of pruning other than the removal of dead or crossing branches in mid-summer to early autumn. If you are pruning to minimise it's height it is always best to do this by taking it back over a few years to minimise any stress to the plant.
Magnolia 'White Caviar'
Magnolia White Caviar is a cross between the two hardiest, most popular and most attractive of Michelia species, M. yunannensis and M. figo. An evergreen variety it forms a dense medium-sized shrub with its attractive glossy dark green leaves and pretty, lightly scented creamy yellow flowers often edged red. Best grown in a sheltered position, this plant is sure to delight with its unusual and plentiful blooms.

Magnolia stellata 'Royal Star'
Royal Star is a double-flowered cultivar of the popular Magnolia stellata (or star magnolia). A slow-growing, deciduous shrub the buds are furry and pale pink before opening into the ldelicately fragrant dense, white, star-shaped flowers we all know and love. Well-suited to smaller gardens, much like its species parent, it will require very little maintenance other than the removal of damaged, diseased or crossing branches in summer. Best grown in a sheltered spot away from cold winds to minimise the risk of any frost damage to the flowers.
Magnolia x loebneri 'Leonard Messel'
Leonard Messel produces delightful pale pink goblet-shaped flowers which open out to a loose star-shape. The scented flowers can last right up until June and their iridescent beauty is simply stunning. Forming a rounded shrub or small tree, Leonard Messel is different to many Magnolias in that it flowers well even on younger specimens.

Magnolia x soulangeana
Magnolia x soulangeana is possibly the most widely-found Magnolia and the one of which we have all seen enormous specimens. It is a slow-growing, deciduous small tree producing stunning waxy goblet-shaped purple-pink-flushed, blush pink-white flowers in spring with a delightful aroma opening out into saucer-shaped blooms. Perfect for brightening up a chilly spring day, it can look simply stunning in the front garden or with a dense evergreen backdrop.
Mahonia eurybracteata subsp. ganpinensis 'Soft Caress'
A relatively new introduction being the first Mahonia to have spine-free leaves. It is an elegant shrub growing to around 1m tall and bearing spikes of bright yellow flowers in late summer and early autumn.
