Tree Ferns

These legally harvested plants from Tasmania are in increasingly short supply in the UK. Give them as much water as possible, and they will reward with large and magnificent fronds giving a tropical air to your garden.

Hardy even in a harsh winter, provided the centre of the plant is protected with fleece or straw. These majestic giants of the fern world are to be admired and treasured. The secret to success is to plant the trunk no more than 10cm deep, stake well for the first 2 years, and water, water, water!

Our Plant Centre has smaller size Tree Ferns up to about 6ft, however we do have a range of much larger specimens on our nursery. Please ask a member of staff if you would like to view these.
