Silene latifolia subsp. alba
A native plant found rather extensively in open fields and wastelands, bearing white flowers on a conspicuous bladder-like calyx. The plants flower from May often through until October. They can become invasive if left to run riot owing to the huge amount of seed they produce, but by carefully removing some of the spent flowers before they set their seed, you should be able to relatively easily manage them. White campions are very worthwhile plants as an attraction for beneficial insect-life in the garden.
