Magnificent large fern which hrives in part or full shade.
Large broad fronds unfurl a copper colour which gradually turns to green. This majestic fern rarely gets to more than about 90cm high, but can be as much as 2m across. It's party trick is that young plantlets will form at the end of the fronds, which will weigh the frond down to the soil. These plantlets will root, forming a whole new fern. In this way, the plant will leap-frog its way around the garden ultimately forming a larger colony of plants all connected together.
