Really large tulip shaped buds open slowly over several days to reveal large double flowers of a clear deep rose red. As the flowers mature they start to take on an unusual violet hue which can even shimmer with a hint of blue. This is a vigorous growing plant which flowers freely from a young age. The stems are an attractive red and the red leaf stalks give continued interest when not in flower. Later flowering, so a good one to have to extend the flowering period of a group of tree peonies. Height and spread after 8 years approx 120cm x 90cm.
