Paeonia 'Scarlet O'Hara'
A great variety with bright scarlet-red, single flowers and golden stamens held on strong stems.
Paeonia 'Shirley Temple'
Superlative in every way! This has to be one of the best of all peonies for the garden. Huge fragrant double flowers opening a beautiful pale blush pink and soon changing to purest white. An outstanding variety for cutting, the plants have a solid upright habit with firm stems and good foliage which colors well in the autumn. Later flowering. Grows to approx 90cm in height.
Paeonia 'Solange'
(Lemoine 1907) Large full double of creamy white with a suffusion of pale salmon pink in the depths of the flower. These gorgeous scented blooms are very long lasting. The foliage is good with dark and strong stems. Good autumn colour. A later flowering peony growing to about 90cm.
Paeonia 'Sorbet'
(Klinkhamer 1987). A "triple-decker" peony. Large flat outer guard petals, with a middle layer of white petals. Topping all this is a frothing mass of narrower pink petaloids. The whole effect being that of a delectable dessert! Mid season flowering. Medium height to approx 90cm.
Paeonia 'Tom Eckhardt'
Sublime it is not! (Krekler 1965). Fantastic and distinct Japanese style peony with large mid pink guard petals, the centre is a huge frothing mass of orange and pink petaloids. Beautiful in its eccentricity. Midseason. Ht. 90cms.
Paeonia 'Top Brass'
(Klehm 1968). Beautiful large blowsy full double blooms. Broad ivory white guard petals with a similar coloured explosion of inner petals with some canary yellow coloration. An immensely good doer in the garden and excellent for cutting. Midseason. Ht. 90cms.
Paeonia 'Victoire de la Marne'
(Desert 1915). Lustrous deep double peony with medium sized blooms of deep maroon red, atop dark stems and foliage. This is a later flowering peony growing to a height of around 90cm.
Paeonia 'Vogue'
(Hoogendoorn 1949). An extremely beautiful, large double bloom of excellent form and clarity. The flowers open the merest blush pink, and then pale to pure white. Some yellow stamens poke through from the depths of the cente. Gorgeously scented too. Takes a while to establish, but then all the best things in life always will! Mid season flowering, height around 85cm.
Paeonia 'White Cap'
Winchell 1956). This has to be one of the most unique of all the japanese style peonies. Bright pale beetroot coloured guard petals cup a centre of buff coloured petaloids, which fade to white as the flowers open wide. This startling peony is mid season flowering and will grow to a height of around 85cm.
Paeonia 'White Wings'
(Hoogendoorn 1949) The most famous single white peony and one that seems to do particularly well in a shady position. Singularly understated, the large flowers are the purest white imaginable, with a stand out golden centre. Lightly fragrant. Always much admired when in bloom. Midseason. Shorter variety 85cm approx.
