Fixes nitrogen into the soil and can provide beneficial long term cover for up to 4-5 years.

Deep-rooted, tolerating drought and helping break up heavy clay soils and improve soil structure.

High yields of nutrient rich soil-improving foliage also an excellent habitat for helpful insects.

Sow April to July.

Dig in April to August.

Best grown in full sun.

Medicago sativa.

Can be mown before flowering to extend the cover period.  Leave plants in the ground until soil is required for use but do not let them set seed.
